 The Digital and Technological Solutions (DTS024V) course is a value-added program designed to provide students with a foundational understanding of the modern digital landscape. Spanning across the first and second semesters, it carries 02 credits.

Course Overview

The primary goal of this course is to familiarize students with digital paradigms and the transformative role of technology in society. It aims to bridge the gap between basic computer usage and an understanding of advanced, emerging technological trends that are shaping the current global environment.

Syllabus Structure

The syllabus is organized into two core units, covering essential digital literacy and future-oriented technological concepts:

  • Unit I: Fundamentals and Communication This unit focuses on the evolution of digital systems and the core components of computing. It covers how computer systems work, the role of software and operating systems, and basic problem-solving techniques like algorithms and flowcharts. Additionally, it addresses how we communicate in a digital age, covering internet fundamentals, networking, web tools, e-commerce, and digital marketing strategies.

  • Unit II: Governance, Finance, and Emerging Technologies This unit shifts focus to the practical application of technology in daily life and governance. It covers the "Digital India" initiative, e-governance, and various digital financial tools (such as UPI and online banking). A critical component of this unit is cyber security, where students learn about threats and safety measures. Finally, it provides an overview of cutting-edge technologies, including Cloud Computing, AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, and 3D printing.

By completing this course, students gain practical knowledge in digital financial tools, security awareness, and an understanding of the technological innovations currently driving the information age.
